BeeBryte often talks about “patented technology” when it comes to describing our solution. But what exactly does it mean in the case of energy optimization and what are some of the patents that make our solution so unique? Today, we look at our very first patent.

The application was filed in Singapore on March 28, 2016. The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) granted the patent on November 28, 2018. It protects our technology under the name “A System And Method For Adaptively Maximizing Cost Savings Or Profits For Utility Usage” (#10201602403R). BeeBryte has since initiated the PCT extension in other countries.

The invention consists of the use of multi-dimensional transformation models. The best way to understand the innovative feature is an analogy with a Fast-Fourier Transform in mathematics. We can solve a very complex stochastic optimization problem in a different mathematical space with basic computation resources (low cost) and in real-time (high-frequency technology).

Unlike automation systems that only use programmed logic to react to internal and external variables, our software predicts the thermal needs of a building in the future and calculates the optimal operation of the HVAC system in advance.
